Curious About Us?
How we got to here.
The naming of Gotham Hollow Homestead.
It started because I was curious about the definition of “Gotham.” It means “Goat Town” in old Anglo-Saxon, and Washington Irving, the author of “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” attached the name Gotham City to New York City in 1807. A “hollow” can refer to a low, wooded area. Plus, I just like the sound of hollow. Those names seemed to fit the feel of my homesteading ambitions. Since the stories I write can have a Gothic feel to them, in my twisted view, that made the perfect name!

Chances.
These stories were inspired by experiences I’ve had and people I’ve known. The town, characters, and events are all fictional though. Each of the stories is also inspired by a different theme, so while all these stories are connected by the town and characters, each story has its own purpose.
Deja Vu.
These stories were inspired by the question, “If you could be a superhero, what would your power be and what would be your name?” Tessa will be the first to tell you that she’s no superhero, though. Tessa also wouldn’t call her ability a gift, as she struggles to figure out how to handle this new responsibility that was thrust on her.
Me.
I write stories because it’s something I enjoy. I have a great time researching for the stories, and I love piecing them together. My dream is to write stories from my homestead, and I want to share the stories with others who might get as much enjoyment out of them as I do!
